Product introduction:
Mechanical Tees are pipe fittings that are used in line of full-flow cast fittings. The fitting is cast of ductile iron in equal halves, one half being the outlet, the other being the strap. An over-sized hole is drilled or cut into the pipe at the location where a branch or device is needed. The mechanical-tee assembles around the pipe, positioning its collar inside the hole and enclosing a resilient rubber gasket suitable for the piping system. The bolts are then fastened making the branch secure. Mechanical Tees are intended to connect piping directly to the system. The fitting outlets are supplied with female-pipe-threads (FPT) or grooved. These are labor saving devices which provide great flexibility and cost savings to a contractor, both in labor and materials. No flame is required to cut the hole or assemble the mechanical-tee, making it a great choice for retrofit and MRO work.
